RRR was founded by a group of young chemists/chemical technologist in 1978 in an unused silver refinery in north-east Mumbai. RRR took the opportunity of introducing commercial electroless nickel plating for the first time in 1978, at a time when the computer hardware industry was small and growing.

RRR is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company. Its growth has been primarily dependent on in-house research and development. RRR focuses on niche fine chemicals, speciality chemicals, formulations and tailor-made process development for its growth. RRR works closely with renowned firms in Germany, Switzerland, Scandinavia and other places.
